Rich Meitin

Until May 2014, Rich was the Director of the Music Industry Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he now continues as adjunct professor. He has degrees in music and law from the U. of Miami (FL). He founded two music production companies in NYC. He was both directing partner and composer, creating many award-winning productions with, among others, Mark Cohn, Raul Midon, the Pointer Sisters, Billy Joel, the Miami Sound Machine, the London Symphony, Richie Havens, and Bill Cosby. His clients also included Sony, Motown, CBS, NBC, MTV. Last year, with Ariel Hyatt and Charles Dahan, he co-authored a book on professional uses of social media in the music industry

Rich was also a music supervisor and radio director for Lintas:New York, then a billion dollar ad agency, where he created work for 23 category-leading brands, including Coke, IBM, MasterCard, Citibank, and Heineken.

In this time of tremendous industry upheaval, LIA gives young creatives a forum both to be challenged and also to engage in play about where everything might be going and what they can do to affect the changes. The creatives that attended my ‘Creative Conversation’ were smart, engaged and curious. What a great way for them to grow!
