Mark Chalmers 2007 Digital Media Jury President
Executive Creative Director / Partner
StrawberryFrog
Former artist and architect Mark cut his teeth in advertising at the UK’s HHCL+Partners with the infamous Tango campaigns of the 90’s. Where he was brought in to take campaigns beyond traditional media.
Awarded as the Campaign magazines Agency of the Decade, he left to experience a day off.
Designed various interiors & retail spaces receiving international editorial from i.d. magazine through The Times, New York Times and Vogue.
Art directed Placebo’s first pop promo, ran club nights and almost killed Boy George with world’s largest faulty glitter ball.
Mark co founded Blueberryfrog in Amsterdam 2000, the world’s first global guerrilla agency and sister to Strawberryfrog – the Frogs merged when it was apparent this approach was the future of modern advertising anyway and the names were getting silly.
Strawberryfrog an international award-winning agency with HQ’s in Amsterdam, New York and now Sao Paulo. As Executive Creative Director and Partner, Mark focused on international work, blurring traditional advertising lines and executing campaigns through 170 countries in all possible media - product development, posters, performances, comics, magazines, websites, TV, viral and films, furniture and cans of air – 1974 Olympian athlete’s breath to be precise.
In April 2007, Mark left his frog partnership to pursue new ventures and is now a leading consultant in the field of multi media creative communications for global brands. Sits on most international advertising award juries and is co founder of Creative Social - the global digital collective.
Named the godfather of guerrilla by the TV industry awards and in 2005 was voted by his peers in Campaign as one of Europe’s top interactive creatives.
Talks wherever invited. Work published in many books. Won many awards. Not always the typical Ad awards because not always the typical Ad work. The industry is however catching on.
The Creative Social Book – Past, Present, Future will be published late 2008.
