U.K. CAPTURES TWO GRAND PRIZES AT PRESTIGIOUS
LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS 2007
16 U.K. Advertising, Design and Digital Media Companies Win A Total of Nine Gold Statues, 29 Silver Statues
(London, November 12, 2007) – Two Grand Prizes were awarded to two London advertising agencies at the 2007 London International Awards, held at the Hippodrome this evening. Now in its 22nd year, the London International Awards honours excellence in Advertising, Design and Digital media.
DDB London won the Grand Prize in Poster & Outdoor for Marmite Squeezy “Sandals,” “Mullet,” and “Hairy Chest”. Fallon London was awarded the Grand Prize for Integrated Media with “Tate Tracks”. Only six Grand Prizes were awarded at the ceremony, chosen from a pool of 17,660 submissions.
In addition to the two Grand Prizes, 16 U.K. companies were also recognised for their superior entries to the 2007 London International Awards. 38 entries from the United Kingdom in the mediums of Design, Digital Media, Integrated Media, Package Design, Poster & Outdoor, Print, Radio and Television/Cinema were chosen as Gold and Silver Statue winners.

Of the 17,660 submissions, only six percent (6%) reached Finalist status. Of those elite selections, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.5% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
