" Many a small thing has been made
large by the right kind of advertising"

Mark Twain - A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court

What is the right kind of advertising?

That is what London International Awards is all about. Since its inception in 1986, London International Awards was founded on basically one tenet - to recognise and honour exceptional creative work in Advertising, Design, and Digital Media and those who have created them. Without favour or exception.

To achieve this end, we defer to our global panel of top creative people. Our yearly line-up of big names from the different disciplines of advertising and design around the world is extremely chary about handing out Statues. We like that. That's what we expect when we get the best in the business to judge. They raise standards. We fervently believe only the most deserving and inspiring should make the cut. Anything less would devalue the Show and the Statue.

Not surprisingly, there have been many occasions where there has been no Gold Statue or Grand Prize Winner in a category or medium respectively. Even with our recent introduction of the Silver Statue, only a very select few have won.

We are unbending when it comes to our basic philosophy of honouring only superlative work. We do, however embrace change and are quick to adapt our competitions to an ever-changing industry.

Over the years, we have introduced several new and emerging media and categories. We have also eliminated a few. Advertising and communication is dynamic. So are we.

Last year we introduced the Silver Statue. This year, we will have a Radio Jury President for the first time in our history. There are also some new categories.

We began in 1986 with 2,600 entries from 37 countries.
We ended 2007 with 17,660 entries from 81 countries.

"Many a small thing has been made large by the right kind of advertising."
We intend to keep honouring the right kind of advertising.
