David has won Grand Prix for both Creativity and Effectiveness for clients including Pepsi, P&G and the Philippine Department of Tourism. He has been in the business long enough to have won hundreds of international and local awards and judged numerous times at LIA, AdFest, AdStars, Clio, D&AD, One Show, and Spikes. He was the first creative from South-East Asia to be appointed Jury President at Cannes Lions.
After starting his career in London, David spent five years in Hong Kong and then moved to Manila. In 1998 he founded BBDO Guerrero, after just 10 years in the business. Under his leadership, the agency has consistently been one of the most awarded agencies in the region. At the start of 2020, David was re-elected Chairman of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies Philippines (4As), and in November launched its first virtual Creative Festival under the theme Stories Don't Stop featuring inspiring speakers from around the world.
On weekends and holidays, and especially during lockdown, he is working on a book about the time the Beatles came to Manila, a project that Dave Eggers has described as 'a side door into history.' David wants to get it published before he's 64.
