Joey David Tiempo is the Founder and CEO of Octopus&Whale, a Game and Experience Design Agency based in Manila.
Joey’s body of work has been recognized at D&AD, Cannes Lions, One Show, Clio, AWARD, LIA, and Webby, among others. She is a regular juror on the global awards circuit and was recently invited to serve as Jury President for D&AD Gaming & Virtual Worlds. She has led the gaming juries for Spikes Asia and the ADC 103rd Annual Awards and was part of the inaugural juries for LIA Evolution, Creativity in the Metaverse, and Entertainment Lions for Gaming.
Her biggest achievement to date has been successfully launching a start-up during a global pandemic. Octopus&Whale now partners with the Philippines' most iconic names in business, including Jollibee, SM, Unilab, Meralco, NutriAsia, and Philippine Airlines.
She is passionate about nurturing young creative talent and actively contributes to the advertising industry and academia. She created the country’s first course on the Culture of Gaming and serves as a lecturer at the University of Asia and the Pacific.
Joey is an avid gamer, frequent speaker, mentor to young creative entrepreneurs, servant to five cats, and mother to a prodigy. Her latest adventure: Keri Kita, a podcast with her husband to help parents raise responsible gamers.
