So appointing the right judges is a serious business. LIA puts careful thought and consideration into selecting the best frontline practitioners to sit on the juries. Every year, the jury members are high-profile professionals from diverse communities internationally; each accomplished in their field and acclaimed by their counterparts in the industry. Having a diversified jury (DEI) across the world - companies, networks, holding companies, independent companies to clients means having different points of view that would eventually lead to the best work being funnelled through.
There is a big weight of responsibility to push the most notable work to the top. That’s why, in the interest of total fairness, every jury member must see every piece of work from the get-go. No pre-judging off-site. And any juror who has a vested interest in a piece of work must abstain.
Marco Venturelli is CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Publicis Conseil in Paris and Chief Creative Officer of Publicis Groupe France, leading around 800 creative talents.
He started out in 2001 as a Copywriter in Milan at BGS/D’Arcy, Publicis, BBDO and Havas.
In 2010, he moved to Paris and joined the Havas-owned Agence H as Creative Director, winning all major awards in France and globally. In 2014 he was appointed Executive Creative Director of the newly-born agency Les Gaulois, making it the most award-winning Havas agency in the world at the Cannes Lions. Then he returned to Publicis as Global Executive Creative Director for the Heineken account, crafting campaigns for UEFA Champions League, James Bond and F1 partnerships, and launching Heineken 0.0.
Marco served as president or juror in all main national and international awards, including Eurobest, London International Awards, New York Festival, Clio, D&AD and three times at Cannes Lions. He has collected hundreds of awards, 71 Cannes Lions, including 3 Grand Prix.
Last year, Publicis Conseil ranked 2nd most creative agency in the world at Cannes Lions.
