Yoshihiro Yagi is Executive Creative Director and Growth Officer at dentsu Japan, and one of the country’s most highly awarded creatives, with over 750 awards across Japan and internationally.
He is the only board member from Asia on the Art Directors Club (ADC). He has served as Jury President at many of the world’s most respected creative award shows, including Cannes Lions, ADC, ADFEST, and Spikes Asia. In 2026, he will serve as Jury President at D&AD.
Throughout his career, Yagi has consistently pursued work that elevates business into culture. His creative philosophy centers on fundamental human impulses—why people connect, what they value, and how those instincts can be transformed into enduring relationships between brands and society.
For the JR Group’s “My Japan Railway,” he was awarded both the D&AD Black Pencil and the Cannes Lions Grand Prix, redefining how national identity and infrastructure can be expressed through creativity.
Most recently, his campaign for NIKKA Whisky, “No Labels,” won a Gold Lion at Cannes Lions 2025. Drawing on the founder’s philosophy of “Savour the joy of life,” the campaign removed both literal and symbolic labels to celebrate individuality and the brand’s true essence.
Yoshi and his wife have two young sons, Minato and Keito, whose names are inspired by the natural circulation of water—mountain streams flowing into the ocean, becoming rain, and returning again to the mountains—reflecting his belief that everything is connected.
Guided by this philosophy, he is committed to nurturing the next generation of creative talent. He lectures at Kyoto University of the Arts and has served as a mentor for Creative LIAisons at the London International Awards, supporting emerging talent from around the world
