London International Awards Announces the
2024 Ambient & Activation | Billboard | Poster | Print Jury

Till Diestel, Managing Director / Chief Creative Officer, Serviceplan Germany
Named Jury President

(31 July 2024London International Awards (LIA), is proud to announce the Jury President and Jury members who will set the bar for the best work awarded in the 2024 Ambient & Activation, Billboard, Poster and Print competitions. Consisting of some of the most celebrated individuals in the industry, this esteemed Jury will be chaired by Till Diestel, Managing Director / Chief Creative Officer, Serviceplan Germany, Munich.

LIA, now in its 39th year, is a show, Created for Creatives, standing as a champion of the creative process, creatives themselves, and of course, great creative ideas and executions. That is why the LIA juries are carefully curated to bring the most celebrated and awarded individuals to Las Vegas to judge. LIA’s transparent judging system ensures that all jurors see every piece of work in their respective categories. As there is no offsite pre-judging, all rounds of judging will take place onsite at Encore @ Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas. These panels decide on the Gold, Silver and Bronze Statue Winners, as well as the Finalists. Each panel, at their discretion, also decides on whether a Grand LIA will be awarded. As all judges are fully involved in all rounds of judging, everyone is privy to the final results before they are published.

Till is part of the team that made Serviceplan the #1 creative agency in the German rankings. Convinced that advertising should be a part of popular culture, Till has won over 1,000 creative awards in total, including several Grand LIAs. In accepting this position, Diestel stated, “I feel very honored and excited to chair this year’s jury. I can't wait to get together into a room in Vegas with all these brilliant minds to discuss creative work. What could be better.”

History tells us that the first ever written advertisement was discovered in the ruins of ancient Thebes, Egypt. It was created in 3000 BC and one of the messages on the papyrus was promoting a weaving shop. Advertising has come a long way since papyrus was used to create sales messages and wall posters in Egypt, Pompeii, Arabia, Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.

With the advent of the printing press, advertising methods advanced. The 3D anamorphic billboard for Louis Vuitton in Tokyo is a far cry from the 1835 billboard for Barnum & Bailey Circus in New York. But over the years, billboard, print and poster have not lost their effectiveness. The greatest advancement, is in how creatively they have been used to communicate and connect with their audience.

Barbara Levy, President of LIA, said, “Even after so many years, billboards, prints and posters are as dynamic in creative hands. Studies have shown that consumers trust print ads more than any other medium. The landscape of advertising may evolve. But despite the coming of digital advertising, these traditional forms of advertising are still standing strong. Creativity is still at the heart of an effective message. Under the leadership of Till Diestel, we have no doubt that interesting pieces of work will rise to the top.”

Notes to the Editor:
London International Awards (LIA) is a Creative Awards Festival, established in 1986, by Barbara Levy, President. Barbara was the first woman to found and operate an International Awards Show honoring multiple media types. 39 years later, LIA continues to hold the unique distinction of being the only international award owned by a woman and having a full-time staff of only women.

LIA stands as a champion of the creative process, creatives themselves, and of course, great creative ideas and executions. We are proud to award the best creative work each year in all forms of media: Advertising, Design, Package Design, Data, Technology, Craft, Health, Pharma, Music, PR, Innovation, Strategy, B2B and much more.

That’s why every year, LIA invites industry leaders and trendsetters on both the creative and client side, assembling the most celebrated people for 10 days of judging in Las Vegas. To cut through the thousands of entries to get to the metal, you need the best jurors from diverse communities – not just meeting DEI standards but having true representation from across the regions, companies, networks, holding companies, independent companies to clients.

All members on our diverse global jury panels, including the Jury Presidents, judge all entries in their respective competitions with the exception to work that they personally collaborated on or was entered from their company. The LIA judging process requires that jurors are onsite for all judging from the first round through statue discussions. There is no pre-judging to narrow the entries.

The exclusive and sought-after, Creative LIAisons educational program, funded by LIA, was implemented in 2012, as a way of giving back to the industry that supports us. Our mission is to develop, educate, inspire and nurture emerging talent. That in a nutshell is the driving purpose behind the Creative LIAisons initiative. What began as a vision in 2012, became a zeal which crystallized into the Creative LIAisons Global Coaching Academy. This game-changing training academy is a powerful springboard for the current and next generation of talent. Consisting of both onsite and virtual programs, approximately 300 Creative LIAisons Mentees participate annually.
