SPAIN TAKES HOME SIX STATUES AT 2018 LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

31 October 2018

(New York, 5th November 2018) LIA, one of the most prestigious Global award shows in Advertising, Digital, Technology driven work, Health & Pharma and Branded Entertainment, today announced the winners. The 33rd Annual London International Awards judging convened over a 10-day period. The Juries, drawn from the world’s most recognized talent and presided over by industry leaders, viewed and scored every entry within their medium, ensuring that all the work was judged equally.

Spain brought home six of the coveted LIA statues and attained two Finalists - 2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze. In total 705 LIA statues, in addition to finalists, were awarded from 40 countries.

“It is obvious that Spain excels in Production and Post Production. “Hope”, the Gold Winning film for the Red Cross, was a powerful piece of film that had the jury constantly raising their hands to award it Gold,” remarked Barbara Levy, President of LIA.

Rob Galluzzo, Founder / Executive Producer at FINCH, Sydney and LIA Production & Post-Production and Music Video Jury President, stated I feel quite privileged to have chaired the 2018 LIA film craft jury. The jury was made up of wonderfully articulate people at the top of their game. All in all it’s the best jury I’ve been a part of.
As usual, the good work rose to the top. We were impressed by the high calibre of craft this year. We witnessed some wonderful films where craft was in the service of the creative idea.”

Nerea Cierco, Executive Creative Director at DDB Madrid and LIA Integration juror, commented on LIA judging, What Happens In Vegas Shouldn’t Stay In Vegas.

Not this time anyway. It wouldn’t be fair to keep under wraps such a refreshingly frank, honest, and respectful insight into our industry as the one we shared at this year’s LIA Awards. For five days, creatives from all over the world got together in the Nevada desert to celebrate the best our industry has to offer. We took on the commitment and responsibility of putting together a challenging list of winners in a relatively new category for brands: Integration. The winners line-up places the spotlight on bold brands who are taking a position in what matters to people and who do it through creativity; brave brands who are raising awareness about collective truths that go beyond their cause and remit. Here are brands that now talk to persons, not just consumers. Brands who are changing the world. Improving it. Transformative brands. We staged it all under the watchful eye of young creatives from around the world; a measure that ensured our debates, arguments and opinions were of the highest quality and allowed us to establish a fair and competent list of winners.”
