2021 design and package design Jury

A 1989 graduate of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Ashwini is co-founder of Elephant*, India's largest independent integrated design consultancy with offices in India & Singapore.

 

Ashwini leads Branding & Communication Design at Elephant. She has done award-winning work for global brands in diverse segments. Some of the awards include Global ReBrand 100 (USA), Worldstar (Germany), A’Design Awards (Italy), Lexus Design Award (India), Charles H Dow Packaging Innovation (USA) & Design for Asia (Hong Kong).

 

Ashwini was invited by Rockefeller Foundation to participate in Global Social Impact workshop and by Danish Design Association to form the Copenhagen Co-creation Manifesto. She has lectured across more than 20 countries including ICOGRADA Design Week, Business of Design Week and International Design Congress.

 

She has been jury at Cannes Lions (France), Global ReBrand 100 (USA), The One Club – Young Guns 16 (USA), Spikes Asia (Singapore) & Design for Asia (HK). Ashwini was Jury President at the D&AD Awards (London), New York Festival Awards & Pentawards. She will be on the jury panel at The One Show in 2021.

 

As a key member of The Design Alliance Asia consortium, Ashwini has edited Colours of Asia book published in Hong Kong that was awarded Design for Asia Special Culture Award by the Hong Kong government. She has written over 50 articles on design that were published through a column in regional publication that reaches over 10 million readers.

 

Ashwini is co-founder of The Collective, an initiative by women creative leaders to create safe work-places for women. She has been speaking on gender & inclusivity at various platforms. Impact magazine has recognized Ashwini among 50 Most Influential Women in Media for six consecutive years. She is also on Campaign India’s A-List.

 

Ashwini is an active member of ADI - Association of Designers of India. She mentors start-ups through TiE - The Indus Entrepreneurs. She is on the Board of Studies panel of M.Des programme by SPPU (Pune University). She is also on advisory board of Pearl Academy, World University of design & IIT Guwahati.  

 

Ashwini recently conducted a course on Design Thinking for the post graduate students at Entrepreneurship & Innovation Centre of FLAME University along with co-faculty Ashish Deshpande.

 

The Economic Times Brand Equity Agency Reckoner has ranked Elephant as No 1 Design Agency multiple times including their most recent 2019-20 listing.

 

At the first India edition of Lexus Design Awards, Elephant was declared as Design House of the Year in 2018.

 

At the first edition of Indian Agency Awards, Elephant was awarded Specialist Agency of the Year in 2019.
