After two years as CCO of BBDO Americas, Luiz Sanches has recently taken on a new role as Chief Global Creative Lead at BBDO, and will now be working globally across the BBDO network, heading up the creative management of its multinational accounts. He is also a chairman and partner at AlmapBBDO, where, for the past 30 years, he has been helping the agency stand out as a model of efficacy and creativity in Brazil and beyond. 

Sanches has received more awards than any other Brazilian creative, including 227 Lions at the Cannes Festival, 71 Pencils at D&AD, and 137 awards at the One Show. He was twice recognized as the best-performing creative director at Cannes and by the Gunn Report, and has served six times as a Cannes Lions juror, twice as jury president (Outdoor/2021 and Film/2018). 

His leadership style, marked by a close relationship with clients and a dedication to delivering work that drives brands forward, helped Almap on the path to being named Agency of the Year four times at Cannes (2000, 2010, 2011 and 2016), and to winning the unprecedented title of #1 Global Agency of the Decade in 2020. 

Luiz believes in the power of profoundly creative, simple, and innovative ideas, and has put that belief to creating memorable campaigns for global advertisers – memorable not only for their creativity, but also in terms of the business results for clients, helping to build up iconic brands such as Havaianas, Audi, Volkswagen, WhatsApp, and Mars, among others.
