Las Vegas was a rollercoaster. No really, I literally kicked the week off on a roller coaster around the New York New York Hotel. Thankfully it ended after a few minutes; little did I know that the Creative LIAisons week would mimic a similar experience, with speaker after speaker taking us through the ups and downs of his or her career and the industry in general.
There were definite highs during the Creative LIAisons programm such as watching the best campaigns get rewarded for producing great work. And then there were some sobering lows like being told “It’s not advertising unless you get kicked in the balls seven times a day”.
But all in all, when the ride came to an end, I was glad I was one of the few that had managed to cling on. Thanks to LIA and Y&R Cape Town for…(removes sunglasses) the ride of my life.
