LONDON INTERNATIONAL AWARDS SPONSORS
YOUNG KANCILS 2023 WINNERS WITH FOUR PLACES TO
2024 CREATIVE LIAISONS

London International Awards (LIA), in collaboration with the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Malaysia (4As), is pleased to once again sponsor and award the Young Kancil Challenge Winners four places to Creative LIAisons for the second year in a row. These special awards were presented at the 2023 Kancil Awards Festival in the presence of the Malaysian creative community.

One member from the gold winning team will join the 2024 Creative LIAisons onsite programme in Las Vegas, while members from the silver winning team will be part of the Global Virtual One-to-One Coaching initiative. These winning teams were selected by a jury of nine jurors, comprising of members from six agencies, along with Bask Bear Coffee & Toasties Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Brand. Each team had to present their ideas based on the brief to create a fictional Malaysian sun bear character that personifies the Bask Bear Brand and introduce and launch this character through a creative campaign.

Team ONE from TBWA Malaysia was the gold winning team and Wesley Murang Jon, is awarded a place at LIA’s 2024 Onsite Creative LIAisons program, a fully-funded LIA initiative for 120 emerging talents from around the globe, that runs concurrently with LIA judging annually in Las Vegas. This award has no delegate fees and includes flights and hotel accommodations, which are fully covered by LIA.

As a global training academy that develops, educates, inspire and nurtures emerging talent, Creative LIAisons offers attendees ample networking and learning opportunities with the icons of advertising, design, digital, health & pharma, production, technology and more. Included in the programme are seminars, panel discussions and interactive workshops allowing attendees to learn from top creatives as well as each other. But what truly makes this learning experience especially unique is the opportunity to observe statue discussions as they occur in real time. LIA is the only global show that offers this.

Team ‘Ernie’ from Leo Burnett Malaysia won silver in the competition. Team members, Sabrina Fernandez, Ameer Imran Razman Chin and Eunice Loke Wai Kei are awarded places in LIA’s 2024 Creative LIAisons Global Virtual One-To-One Coaching programme.

These personal and bespoke training sessions offer emerging talent the opportunity to tap into the minds, expertise and experiences of respected industry luminaries. Mentees will receive one-to-one e-mentoring sessions with three established industry leaders from around the globe. This is no one-size-fits-all, as each coaching session is customized to the mentee, covering all disciplines with emphasis on skill development, elevating ideas and boosting creative confidence to fast-track careers. Approximately 200 mentees and 200 coaches worldwide participate in this programme annually.

2022 YOUNG KANCIL WINNER
KAH YAN LIM, ART DIRECTOR,
LEO BURNETT MALAYSIA REFLECTS ON CREATIVE LIAISONS 2023

Thank you LIA for this wonderful, unforgettable experience at Creative LIAisons Las Vegas.

Listening to many inspiring speakers and meeting and learning from creatives from around the world is such a precious experience and a great opportunity. It motivates me so much.

It was really cool to have different minds coming together for the intense workshop pitch. The creative collision unleashed a wave of interesting ideas.

Being in the jury room to observe statue discussions was one of the most insightful and helpful experiences. I was lucky to have a chance to witness how judges discuss and debate on all the top creative works. Thank you again for making this happen. I hope more young creatives will have the chance to attend this program.

Like another Creative LIAisons attendee said, "What happens in Vegas won't just stay in Vegas." Let the friendships and knowledge we've learned continue to bloom and shine.

Thank you Barbara Levy, Laurissa Levy and Emir Shafri for the opportunity and for bringing Creative LIAisons to life. It's incredible!

Lastly, a big cheers to two of my BEST Kancil teammates Farah Farid and Jia Ying Chew, we ladies made this happen together of having the chance to be a part of the Creative LIAisons mentee program.
