(New York, 5th November 2018) LIA, one of the most prestigious Global award shows in Advertising, Digital, Technology driven work, Health & Pharma and Branded Entertainment, today announced the winners. The 33rd Annual London International Awards judging convened over a 10-day period. The Juries, drawn from the world’s most recognized talent and presided over by industry leaders, viewed and scored every entry within their medium, ensuring that all the work was judged equally.
This year Canada brought home 41 of the coveted LIA statues - 12 Gold, 14 Silver, 15 Bronze and attained 14 Finalists.
In total 705 LIA statues, in addition to finalists, were awarded from 40 countries with Canada ranking #5. The top countries were United States (211), Germany (111), Australia (53), United Kingdom (50), Canada (41) and Brazil (34).
“Looking at the high standard work from Canada, I understand how competitive it was in the judging room. Only the best were awarded metal. So the Winners are truly deserving of their Statues,” commented Barbara Levy, President of LIA.
Karen Howe, President of The Township Group, and LIA Ambient, Print, Poster, Billboard and Verbal Identity juror commented, “The calibre of work was so strong this year, it made the mandatory culling painful at times. Our jury representatives spanned the globe from China and Spain to Australia, and provided helpful context. We were all committed to a shortlist that reflected the kind of creativity we want to encourage in the year ahead. Hats off to the LIA winners. Well deserved.”
Cossette, Toronto had a stellar run at LIA 2018 with a variety of winning works, collecting a tally of 2 Gold, 6 Silver, 4 Bronze and 6 Finalists:
Ronnie Caltabiano, VP / Associate Creative Director at Area 23, New York and Health & Wellness and Medical – Craft juror, stated, “The new entry in the outstanding “SickKids” campaign is driven by exuberant and inspiring filmmaking. From the film’s sensational cinematography, to its exhilarating editing and superb direction, “SickKids VS - All In” is an electrifying rallying cry for the foundation.”

Dan Ford, Executive Producer at Skin and Bones Film Co. and LIA Production & Post-Production juror stated, “It was a real pleasure being included on the panel judging the Production/Post Production Craft awards this year. Spending a few days in a room sifting through a mountain of great entries is not nearly as easy as I’d thought it would be but the team LIA assembled was extraordinary. A great group of people being led by a fantastic President, Rob Galluzzo, made the entire experience really quite wonderful.
Judging is one of the few times throughout the year that we get to debate what good work is. Judging work with such a diverse group all with slightly different points of view is really refreshing.”
