Shane Geffen is Executive Creative Director at HERO + McCann Melbourne. Originally from South Africa, he moved continents to Australia where he’s connected with people and brands at world class agencies including DDB Sydney, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and VMLY&R Australia.
Career highlights include inviting people into the Sydney Opera House through their selfies, making an interactive Christmas bauble that let children know if they’ve been naughty or nice for Australia’s largest department store, enlisting A.I. to help recruit humans into the Navy, creating a dystopian future to attract students to join Monash¬ University and most recently showing male gamers what it’s really like to play through the eyes of women, earning Maybelline New York their first Cannes Lions ever.
It’s innovative work like this that has earned him and his multi-disciplinary teams over 150 local and international awards including Golds at Cannes Lions, multiple Grand Prix at Spikes Asia as well as recognition at D&AD, One Show, The ANDYs, SXSW, AWARD and the Effies.
As a Creative LIAsons coach he helps develop, educate and inspire the next generation of emerging talent to reach their full potential.
Apart from being an ad and gaming nerd, he also boasts a strange accent, makes killer homemade biltong and has an Uber Rating of 4.89.
