Originally from Holland, Mario was educated at Central Saint Martins. He is a multi-award winning Creative Design Director at AMV BBDO, London. He has been at AMV BBDO since 2012 where his role as a creative has evolved from designer to art director to creative director.
His work has been recognised many times at all the major international award shows. Career highlights include a D&AD Black Pencil and 7 Cannes Lions Grand Prix, which includes the 2018 Cannes Lions Design Grand Prix, the 2021 Cannes Lions Health for Good Grand Prix and the 2022 Cannes Lions Industry Craft Grand Prix.
He has also been a jury member at both D&AD and Cannes Lions.
Notably, his Trash Isles project was the category winner for graphic design at London’s Design Museum’s prestigious annual Beazley Designs of the Year Awards. Subsequently it was made part of the museum’s permanent collection.
From Trash Isles to Viva La Vulva, addresspollution.org, Wombstories and Hope Reef, Mario’s passion for design and ideas that make a positive impact on the world and culture have led him to create and collaborate on some of the most iconic and innovative campaigns in recent memory.
