Hugo is Global Chief Creative Officer, AKQA.
 

Hugo Veiga is a blend of Portuguese and Brazilian souls. After being recognised as the year’s best copywriter at the 2013 Cannes Lions, he co-founded AKQA’s São Paulo studio with Diego Machado. Among Hugo’s body of work are 4 Cannes Lions Grand Prix.
 

Individually, he was named 2019 Best Creative Director in Brazil by PropMark and has delivered two TEDx Talks. Outside advertising, he was a screenwriter and actor in three Portuguese TV comedy shows; Did dubbing for TV cartoons; Won two editions of the Lisbon Improv Theater Competition; and was the lead singer of Moda Foca, a 90’s rock band without fans or talent.
