LIAs are always one of my favorite shows to judge and I was very happy to be asked back in 2017. The fact that we are all in a room together (as opposed to doing this online) really breeds more creative discussion and debate. We had a great crew this year with very meaningful discussion. I felt like I was able to learn from everyone in the room.
My favorite work hands down this year was the the sound design and sound editing on Pennzoil. The way the sound was crafted combined with an attention to detail was superb. From the very moment I heard both of those pieces, I was floored. Kudos to the teams on the films for taking the time and care to craft a true piece of art.
