Chief Creative Officer
Leo Burnett, Sri Lanka
Colombo
, Sri Lanka

Ransley is the Chief Creative Officer at the Publicis Groupe Colombo, Sri Lanka, the creative-in-charge of Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Publicis. Before taking over the creative reigns at Publicis just 2 years ago, Ransley was at MullenLowe Thailand where he was Regional Creative Director, thinking large and creating integrated campaigns for Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia.

He has spearheaded campaigns for a diverse portfolio of brands such as Unilever, Rexona, Pepsodent, Citra, Knorr, Walls, Coca-Cola, GSK, Nestle, British American Tobacco, Shangri-La, Cadbury’s, Perfetti Van Mele, International Cricket Council, Mercedes Benz, MG, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, SriLankan Airlines, Traveloka and Khmer Beverages.

He joined MullenLowe Bangkok in 2016 after an 8-year stint at Ogilvy Colombo, winning numerous international awards including the island’s first Gold award at Adfest for GlaxoSmithKline.

Ransley was studying software engineering and thought he could temp in advertising when he realized that writing for advertising was tough, and decoding the consumer was tougher. So, he quit software engineering and got into advertising full-time.

After starting his ad career as a junior copywriter at McCann-Erickson, he won the first Copywriter of the Year award and was chosen to represent the country at Young Lotus Adfest, and became the youngest Associate Creative Director at 25 years of age.

When he’s not writing ads, he’s either acting in theatre, writing screenplays and directing shorts, or binge-watching TV shows, running and avoiding carbs.
